Hi. You don’t need to pre-hire a guide. You can find one in Petra, in front of the Monastery. For Wadi Rum, you can find a jeep tour at your accommodation or at the Visitor Center. I have an article written about this on the blog. Best, Aura

I am interested in visiting Petra next month, I have a few questions here, hope you can help.
1). From your article, it sounds like I do not need to pre- hire a guide to tour petra, I just need to hire one of the bedouin guides at the entrance to show me around and take me to the view point. Please correct me if I am wrong.

2). How about Waidi Rum? I would like to hire a 4×4+ driver ( cum guide) who can take me to all the view points/ beautiful sites to take photos, do I need to pre arrange with one of the travel companies in Amman? Or if I can hire one when I check into one of the camp sites ( am interested in Memories Aicha, Bubble Luxotel & wadi Rum UFO Luotel)?

3). I would like to pre-arrange private transfers to take me to attractions in Amman, transfers from Amman to Petra, and to Wadi Rum, can you recommend any reliable tour company?
